JONO COLEMAN

Jonathan Harry Coleman OAM nicknamed “Jono” is a television personality, radio announcer and writer and performer of comedy.

Coleman’s broadcasting career started in the late 1970s in Australia when he was chosen a member of the reporting team for the multiple Logie Award winning Simon Townsend’s Wonder World.

This was followed by several years as a DJ and presenter on Triple J, before teaming up with Ian ‘Dano’ Rogerson and moving to Triple M where they took the show to number one.

In 1988 Jono and Dano began hosting a new music television program on Seven. Saturday Morning Live was a mixture of music videos, live performances, interviews with musicians and performers, location items and comedy performances. The show was immediately popular and
soon became one of the most watched music program on Australian television. The team went on to host Have A Go and Late Night With Jono and Dano before Jono moved to the UK.

While in the UK for 16 years Jono enjoyed success on radio hosting breakfast radio shows on Virgin Radio, BBC London and Heart FM, as well as TV spots on Sunrise and GMTV.

One of Australia’s most recognisable faces, Jono soon returned to radio in Australia on the Classic Hits Network, and on TV on Channel Seven’s Sunrise. Today, he can be seen on Channel Ten’s late mornings program Studio 10, where he presents advertorials and live segments.
Jono has also appeared in many Australian and UK movie and TV roles including Young Einstein, Stanley, Midnight Spares, Koala Bros, The Bill, Neighbours and Home
and Away
