Jimmy Rees is best known for his role on Giggle & Hoot, the most popular TV series for preschoolers in Australia today. Auditioning on a whim for the ABC, Jimmy was plucked from amongst 5000 other hopefuls, Jimmy Rees became Jimmy Giggle, the face of the ABC for a new generation. Since the debut of Giggle & Hoot in 2009, Jimmy’s character Jimmy Giggle and his best mate ‘Hoot’ have become household names around the nation. From their wonky, recycled house they entertain preschoolers morning, afternoon and night.
An accomplished performer and comedian, in 2013 Jimmy took to the stage in the first
Giggle & Hoot live show ‘Giggle & Hoot & Friends”. The show played to 51 sold out audiences around the country, including 34 shows at Hamer Hall in Melbourne and eight shows at The Sydney Opera House. Jimmy also starred as The Scarecrow in a Packemin production of The Wizard of Oz at the Parramatta Riverside Theatre the same year.
Jimmy’s broad audience includes not only preschoolers but their parents and grandparents as well…especially the Mums! Giggle & Hoot is a huge merchandising success story for Australia, with Jimmy;s unique pyjamas not only available in children’s sizes, but adults can wear them as well.
