Aladdin and his Wondrous Lamp is an updated contemporary version of the classic fairytale, in the style of a traditional British family Pantomime. A Panto is known for its interactive style and humour that appeals to everyone from ages 3 – 103!
At it’s best – Panto is a celebration of the child in us. Panto takes the familiar fairytale, injects contemporary music from artists such as “Taylor Swift”, “Bruno Mars”, “Katy Perry” and “Coldplay”, for example, as well as injecting current local newsworthy references in to the script. Panto also encourages and insists on audience participation to create a hysterically funny, raucous, noisy entertainment that is fun for everyone in the family. The sets and costumes are guaranteed to be spectacular and Aladdin will have spectacular magical illusions to marvel and excite the whole family.
Aladdin is a production by Bonnie Lythgoe Productions (BLP). BLP Director – Bonnie Lythgoe has an amazing career spanning more than 30 years and is an entertainment industry success story. She has worked with numerous well known entertainers throughout her career including Gene Kelly, Sammy Davis Junior, Sidney Poitier, Jerry Lewis, Dudley Moore, Sir Cliff Richard, Barry Humphries, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5, Diana Ross, The Temptations, Olivia Newton-John, Kylie Minogue, Ricky Martin, The Bee Gees, Black Eyed Peas, Neil Diamond, Tom Jones, Neil Sedaka, Pink, Leona Lewis, Duffy and more.
So we can expect to see a stellar line up of local and international celebrities in the star studded Australian cast of “Aladdin” this year including popular past and present cast members of the “So You Think You Can Dance“ alumni.
